Richard R. Barreras

Richard R. Barreras, age 72, of Tempe, Arizona passed away on Sunday October 7, 2018. Richard was born November 18, 1945 in Phoenix, Arizona. Richard entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1964 and is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He remained proud of his service to his country and joined the American Legion Post 41. Richard was a hard worker throughout his life and retired after 34 years from SRP. When not working, he was an avid Bingo player.

Richard is survived by his wife, Guadalupe Barreras; son Ricky (Gina) Barreras; and daughter Eileen Barreras. He is also survived by 4 step children, 5 sisters, 1 brother, 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His parents precede him in death.

A viewing for Richard will be Monday, October 15, 2018 at 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM, both in the chapel at Resthaven / Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, 4310 East Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042. Immediately following, he will be laid to rest in the cemetery, with military honors. Family and friends are invite to gather for continued fellowship from 1 to 4pm at the American Legion Thunderbird Post 41, 715 S. 2nd Ave., Phoenix, AZ, 85003
