Paul Henry Barker died August 10, 2016 in Biloxi, MS from a self-inflicted gunshot to the head. He was 30 years old. He is survived by his mother Patricia, father Phil and sister Katie, and cats Baxter and Sully.
Paul was born in Phoenix, AZ on December 10, 1985. He received a Bachelor of Science from Grand Canyon University in May 2011 and his Doctor of Medicine from the Medical College of Wisconsin in May 2016. He was a captain in the Air Force and was in his first year of residency at Kessler Air Force Base.
Paul was sincere and thoughtful with a great smile and quirky sense of humor. He loved to hike, ice climb, rock climb, blow glass, take photographs, collect cactus, drink whiskey, and sit in front of a bon fire. He could usually be talked into playing Scrabble or Peanuts and loved Cards Against Humanity. His classmates speak of his kind nature, sharp mind, and the potential he had to be a great surgeon.
Paul touched more lives than he knew, and will be missed greatly. Services will be held Sunday, August 21st at 10 am located at at A.L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary 710 W. Bethany Home Road, Phoenix, AZ 85013. Everyone who knew him is welcome to attend.
