Paul was born on September 15, 1936 in Whiteland, Indiana to Loyd and Mildred (Coffman) Barker. He graduated from Bainbridge high school in 1954. Paul joined the Air Force reservation in 1954 and served eight years at Bakalar Air Force Base in Columbus, Indiana.
Paul met the love of his life, Marilyn Hedrick on July 4, 1953 at age 16. They were married on March 26, 1955. They had 65 loving years together.
In September 1954, Paul started working at R.R. Donelley and Sons printing co. in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Paul and Marilyn and their 4 children moved to Phoenix, Arizona in May 1967. Paul worked at W.A. Krueger printing co. in Phoenix and at 0S West printing co.com in Scottsdale. Paul retired in March 2000. Paul was a member of Palmcroft Church.
Paul and Marilyn helped start the Kaiser Frazer Owners Club in 1959 in Chicago, Illinois. They were active charter members in the car club, Paul enjoyed working on the cars and restoring them. Paul like to build model cars and airplane models. He was an excellent piano player.
Paul is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn, four children, Alan Barker (Sue) Phoenix, Larry Barker of Peoria, Karen Recker (Dave) of Peoria, Marcia Dempsey (Rick) of North Bend, Washington, 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, his sister Marilyn Woodrum of Crawfordsville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents Loyd and Mildred Barker and one grandson Jeff Alan Barker.
Services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary 200 West Beardsley Rd., Phoenix, with visitation at 10 AM and the service at 11 AM with graveside service to follow. The family wishes to thank Fadi Jamer and the Hospice of the Valley, nurses Susie and Nadia.
