He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Katherine Johnson and siblings, Delbert Johnson, Katherine Ashley, Charles Johnson and Carole McFarland. And sadly just 5 days after his death his brother William Johnson passed as well.
He is survived by his wife Juanita, his brother Jerry (Raye) Johnson, his daughter Kimberly, his sons Bilal and Marlon, six grandchildren, Kali, Ahmed, Tariq, Assid, Mu’az, and Jibrail, as well as eight great grandchildren, an uncle and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank Kim Johnson for the care and compassion she showed our loved one in his final days. Her love and support for our family is unmatched.
He graduated from Freeport High School, home of the Pretzels, in 1960.
He and his wife, Juanita were married June 29, 1963, and a year later moved to the St. Paul/Minneapolis area where he started at Pioneer Plating. He worked at Pioneer Metal Finishing as a plant manager with his brother, Delbert. After retiring from Pioneer, he devoted much of his time to his ranch, HarMar Ranch, breeding and showing Arabians and Quarter horses with his son Marlon and daughter Kim.
He was actively involved in his local Masonic lodge, Martin Luther King Lodge #29, as well as Perfect Ashlar Lodge #4 in St. Paul, MN which he joined in 1971.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 AM on December 23, 2022, at Phoenix Memorial Park & Mortuary, 200 W Beardsley Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85027. Interment will immediately follow the service with a repast beginning at 1 PM.
