Lois Thompson of Phoenix, AZ passed away on June 19th, 2023, at 85 years of age. Lois was born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania but grew up in Yuma, Arizona with her parents, Peter and Rose DuBois and her younger brother, Peter, who she adored.
Lois attended Arizona State University where she played on the Women's Tennis Team and graduated with a master's degree in physical education. She subsequently married Lowell Thompson. She worked as a Physical Education Teacher and was a professional tennis instructor most of her life. Lois loved working with and teaching adults and children and was loved by her students.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Rose DuBois, her brother, Peter, and her husband. Lowell Thompson.
Lois is survived by her son Ross Thompson and daughters Julie McSorley and Robin Austin. Lois was also a grandmother and very active with her five grandchildren as they were all growing up. She was affectionately known as "Scary Grandma" by Trevor and Nathan Austin, Cayla and Connor McSorley and Cameron Thompson.
Lois was loved by her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
There will be a small grave side service with immediate family at a later date. In lieu of flowers we would ask that you consider a donation to Mountain View Hospice in Peoria, Az.
