With heavy hearts we must say goodbye to Keith, our husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, and even boss, but only for a while until we meet again on the other side. After two years of courageous battles to regain his health from throat cancer, Keith F. Walker passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday morning, April 25, 2014. Keith was born July 11, 1952 at Langley AFB in Hampton, VA. to Ernest and Betty Walker. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Carl; and sister, Brenda. He is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Barry, Brian, and Shannon; and sisters, Carol (Steve), and Jill (Rick). Keith was a 42 year employee of “Ma Bell”, now Century Link. He received the Outstanding Service Provider Award for the Regional Field Supply Operations of 2013. Keith spent much of his youth at the Boys Club and was Phoenix Boy of the Year in 1969. He was an avid, lifelong fan of baseball and the Atlanta Braves, and was also a season ticket holder to the Arizona Diamondbacks until he lost his health. A memorial service will be held for Keith on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 2:00pm at Greenwood Memory Lawn Serenity Chapel, 2300 W. Van Buren St. Phoenix, AZ. 85009 or 719 N. 27th Ave. Phoenix, AZ. 85009. Scattering will follow in the Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery Rose Garden. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Arizona Humane Society, Boys and Girls Club of Arizona, or the charity of your choice.
