Kathy Burrows (Cullers) Rushlo

Kathy, 64, was a Happy, fun, intelligent & quick witted woman who was loved by any and everyone who met her. She had a huge heart and tried to help anyone she could. She was not just a mother but a second ‘mother’ to many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Kathy started life in Springfield,IL before moving to Coralville with her parents in 1960. She attended Penn & Kirkwood elementary schools as well as North West junior high before graduating from West high in 1976. She went on to get her Bachelors & Masters Degrees in Health Administration from the University of Iowa. She was most recently the Sponsored Programs Director at AT Still University in Phoenix.

When she wasn’t crocheting or watching her favorite sports teams she was out side with a cigar and a glass of wine. She loved the beach and would take any chance she could get to sit in the sun. She loved dancing, music and spending time with family and friends.

Kathy is survived by her parents, Leslie (Les) & Nancy Cullers. Her daughters Leslie Cady, Jami Burrows (Xzayvier) & Shelby Shaull (Shawn). Her sisters Cheryl Hoard (John),Cindy Smith (Ron) & Pam Cullers-Benner (Ronnie). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kiara, Austin, JD, Cayden, Delilah, Kyla, Tyson & Taylor; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on June 1st from 5-8 at North Ridge Pavilion in Coralville. We will also have a celebration of life in Arizona, it will be May 12th, from 4-7 pm at Rest haven/Carr-Tenney funeral home in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the go fund me we have established in her name.
