Born April 12, 1934 in New York, NY to Joseph Charles Singer Sr and Catherine Smith, Joe was a God loving, family man; a very proud, yet humble man. Joe was faithful and committed in everything he did, from being a dedicated husband, raising his family (7 children), to working hard, to health and fitness, and to his church. His commitment to God, family, and work, were unwavering. Joe will be remembered for being a loyal man, a man of great integrity and wisdom, and someone you could always count on.
He loved the Lord, and raised his children to put their faith and trust in God, even through the most difficult times. Joe was a proud veteran, who loyally served his country in the US Army. He was very compassionate about veterans and their rights. Joe worked as a store merchandiser for many years. Even after he retired, he took on another part time merchandising job, until he was forced into final retirement, at age 75. His work didn’t end there though, as he would continue to maintain his home and his vehicles immaculately. Joe was still changing his own car oil at 80 years old! He has a collection of Consumer Report books, which he would reference before making any purchase. Joe was frugal, but very generous. He was a sports enthusiast, and loved to watch and participate in his children’s sports as they were growing up. Joe enjoyed following the local sports teams, and just recently, was thrilled that the Phoenix Suns were in the finals. It was always a good conversation, “talking shop” about sports with him. Another interest of Joe’s, was music. Frank Sinatra was a favorite, as was his son-in-law (who was “son” to Joe), Thomas, who plays the saxophone, which Joe loved. He had his own personal concert, at his home, on his birthday one year. Joe’s other family members, were his dogs. They were his faithful companions, as he missed his wife so dearly. Joe loved to spoil his dogs, and prided himself in doing so! All of these wonderful memories will be cherished and kept alive by his children, Debbie(Mel) Scott, Kathleen Singer, Joe M Singer, Theresa (Thomas) Love, Christine Singer, Rosie (Craig) Standley, Daniel Singer, his 25 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, his brother Jim (Minnie) Singer, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joe will be greatly missed by so many! However, we rejoice that he’s in heaven with Jesus, and his precious wife and family that went before him!
