Dr. Joseph Harris was born the 2nd day of December 1919 in Baltimore, Maryland and passed away on the 14th day of April 2011 in Chandler, Arizona. He is remembered as a loving father and for his wonderful, witty sense of humor, his zest for life, incredible desire for learning, and his curiosity of all things - but particularly science. Dr. Harris held both a MS & PhD in Neurochemistry. He spent a lifetime teaching & researching at the John Hopkins School of Medicine, and the Arizona State University Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry. He was also a fellow of the New York Academy of Science. Dr. Harris is preceded in death by his wife; Irene Dorothy, his brother; Edward, and both of his parents. He is survived by his brother; Paul (Joan), two sons; Donald Jeffrey (Holly), and Mark L. (Kathryn), and two grandchildren; Sharon and Taylor. A Memorial Service will be held at Carr-Tenney Mortuary, 2621 S. Rural Rd in Tempe, Arizona on April 20th, 2011 beginning at 10:00am. Dr. Harris will be interred at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix on April 21st, 2011. Arrangements are being held under the direction of Carr Tenney Mortuary in Tempe.
