Born September 26, 1947 in Belen, New Mexico to Reynaldo “Rey” and Gregorita “Gloria” (Jaramillo) Gurule.

Drafted to the United States Army January 1968 to December of 1969, serving his country as a Private 1, Radio Operator for two years, during the Vietnam Era. Awarded with a National Defense service medal and sharpshooter M–14
Married Martha Beltran in Miami Arizona 12/26/1969. They had two children Jon Michael Gurule and JaeAna Marie Gurule. His beloved 1st wife Martha Gurule passed away April 6, 1996 after 26 years of marriage.
Married Christine Haptonstall June 20, 1998, choosing to be a stepfather, committing to raising four young children. Tara, Jessica, Craig, and Kelly Haptonstall,

Jerry was a man of Faith, he honored and served God, first and foremost. He committed his heart to Jesus Christ at an early age and the Holy Spirit living within him, provided guidance for Jerry to love, respect, protect and mentor every person God placed in his path.
Jerry was a family man second, faithful and honorable as a husband and father, raising two families, enjoying yearly family reunion campouts in Quemado, New Mexico. He loved being outdoors, hunting and fishing with family and friends.
Jerry is absolutely adored by all who were privileged to be a part of his life. He was always loving, always protecting.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Jacobo and Valentina (Moore) Gurule, Alberto and Lucia (Tafoya) Jaramillo, parents Reynaldo “Rey” and Gregorita “Gloria” (Jaramillo) Gurule, brother Larry Gurule, and first wife Martha Beltran Gurule.
