Lt. Col. Ret. Irwin Jacob Robinson, Jr., passed away peacefully at his home in Phoenix, Arizona on October 7, 2012. He was born in Colonia Dublan, Mexico on October 10, 1921 to Irwin J. Robinson and Louie Isabel Tenney Robinson, who later moved their family to Thatcher, Arizona where Irwin attended school and then met his wife of 62 years, Florenia Whitmer Robinson, deceased. For more than 26 years Irwin served his country as a member of the armed forces of the United States, 19 years of which were as an officer of the Arizona Army National Guard. As a successful small business owner, he earned a well-deserved reputation for honesty and integrity, and as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he lived a life of dedicated service to all whose lives he touched. Irwin was preceded in death by his son, Irwin III, and is survived by his daughters, Patricia Robinson and Catherine Coverston, and his daughter-in-law, Karen Robinson, nine grandchildren and twenty two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the LDS Church, Osborn Ward, at 18th Avenue and Earll Drive in Phoenix, Arizona, with visitation 1 hour prior.
