He was born March 30, 1939 to Josephina Castro and Francisco Valencia in Tempe, Arizona.
Henry grew up in Chandler, one of 10 children; five of them survived into adulthood: Tony, Rita, Frank, Henry, and Carlos. All preceded him in death. Henry and his siblings attended Kyrene School District, as well as his children. He met Julia Holguin from Chandler and they married June 16, 1956. Henry was active in Kyrene's Boy Scout Troop and was on the Boy Scout Committee for ten years. He served on the Water District Committee and was also on the committee to incorporate Guadalupe into township. Henry's brother Frank was the first elected Mayor of Guadalupe.
Henry was the Head Fleet Mechanic at Standard Glass for over 15 years. He left to open his own auto repair shop at his home. HCV Auto became a saving grace for many. Henry met many new people that are now lifelong friends. Henry ran HCV Auto for over 30 years until he retied at 72 years old. He suffered from End Stage Kidney Disease and Prostate Cancer.
Henry is survived by his wife, Julia; sons Richard (Cathy), Edward (Josephina), and Michael; daughter Judy; 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren
A viewing for Henry will be held Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 9:00 AM, funeral service at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at Resthaven / Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens, 4310 East Southern Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85042.
