She was born at home in Clarita, Oklahoma to Margo Estella Crawford and Lloyd T. Crawford. Her family moved around the southwest and settled in Ft. Worth, Texas. She Graduated from Carter Riverside High School where she was a cheerleader. She went on to business school where she learned secretarial skills.
Lloydean first met Victor Papst at Biggs Air Force Base in Texas. He was an aircraft mechanic and she was a secretary on base. They married on June 1, 1954. Lloydean and Victor settled in Phoenix, Arizona in 1957 where they raised their family.
Lloydean loved The Lord and was a member of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church from 1963 to 2004. She was a member of the Altar Guild and both her children were confirmed there. Victor passed away in 2000.
Lloydean was a housewife who loved to cook and entertain. She was known for her big Sunday family dinners. When her children were older, she returned to work and eventually retired as secretary to the General of the Arizona Air National Guard.
She is survived by her daughter, Gayla Parish (John Parish); son, Vic Papst (Helen Papst); six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and her sister, Vicki Berger (Roger Berger).
Lloydean was a happy, enthusiastic, beautiful lady, and she will be greatly missed.
A visitation for Elizabeth will be held Monday, May 15, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Desert Foothills Lutheran Church, 29305 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85266, followed by a funeral service Monday, May 15, 2023 at 11:00 AM, 29305 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85266.
A reception will occur Monday, May 15, 2023 from 12:15 PM to 2:15 PM, 29305 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85266.
A committal service will occur Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024.
