World War II Veteran, Edward Espino Saavedra, died peacefully on March 9, 2017. A loving grandfather and great-grandfather, he is survived by his granddaughter and grandson-in-law: Amanda and Scott Moore; his grandson and granddaughter-in-law: Tom and Jen Trujillo; and his great-grandchildren: Vincent Moore, Victoria Moore, and Aurelia Trujillo.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lupe Saavedra; his daughter and her husband, Frances and Oscar Trujillo; his parents, Jesus and Octaviana; and his siblings: Paulina, Max, Angel, Ascencion, Luis, Ysidro, Aurora, Angel, Modesta, and Jesus. He was well-known for his love for God, America, and family; and will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
A Rosary will be held in his honor at Resthaven/Carr-Tenney Mortuary & Memorial Gardens (4310 E. Southern Ave., 85042) on Friday, March 24 at 7:00 pm; with viewing available 4:00-8:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church (3550 E. Knox Rd., 85044) on Saturday, March 25 at 10:30 am; with an interment to follow at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery (2033 N. 48th St., 85008).
