Edward Luther King, age 88, formerly of Greenwood, South Carolina passed away January 25th, 2020 in Mesa, Arizona. He was born on May 8th, 1931 to his mother Mona (Blaylock) King and father James E. King. Edward was a godly man who loved Jesus with all his heart and because of that truth he exhibited amazing generosity and love to everyone & anyone he ever met; his family was blessed to have experience the hands & feet of Jesus through him. Edward was a very educated man he received his bachelor’s and master’s degree from Columbia College. He later married the love of his life Gloria Helen (White) King. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War a true patriot who served in the US Army for 28 years from 1948 to his retirement in 1976. His journey didn’t end there he became the Vice President of Fort Bliss Credit Union where he worked from 1976 to 1989. Edward was an extremely accomplished man from 1989 to 1997 he went to work for William Beaumont Army Medical Center as a Surgical Administrator. His successful career continued as an Adjunct Professor at El Paso Community College and Pima Community College. Wise with many talents Edward was a DJ at several radio stations including WTCR. On his free time, he enjoyed going fishing, traveling, telling his wonderful stories to family and friends as well as reading and hearing music. He was a 32nd degree mason and a member of Brown Road Baptist Church in Mesa, Arizona. Edward king is proceeded in death by his mother Mona (Blaylock) King, father James E. King, sisters Lucy Mattie King, Clia Elizabeth Styron, Annie Ruth Rush. He is survived by his wife Gloria Helen (White) King, 4 children Mona Rankin, Michael King, Kathy King and Kim Hind. 12 grandchildren Jonathan Jones, Jennifer Carrillo, Andrew Rankin, Erin Mendoza, Jacob King, Jami King, Victoria Foltz, Danielle Hind, Brittany Mebane, Aaron Hernandez, Sami Hind, Justin Hind. 17 Great Grandchildren Lucas Jones, Marcelo Jones, Monique Carrillo, Autumn Carrillo, Isaiah Carrillo, Israel Carrillo, Emma Rankin, Lennon Mendoza, Lincoln Kipp, Ashley Hind, Londyn Hernandez, Kingston Hernandez, April Foltz Mebane, John Foltz Mebane, Brooklyn Mebane, Akari Mebane, Hannah Hind. 1 Great-Great Grandchild Zion Matamoros. He will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations to will go to Wounded Warriors Projects.
