Delores Joy Erickson “Dee”, 78, passed away peacefully with loved ones at her side on February 13, 2013. She was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Gram-Gram, and Aunt. Born August 5, 1935 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, she relocated to Phoenix with her husband (Leonard Erickson) and children to be near her parents where her family continued to grow. She played the piano at home and our Lutheran Church; she was a Girl Scout Leader for many years. During her career, she was a Supervisor for Arizona Department of Vital Records and worked part time for H&R Block. In her retirement, she moved to Tonopah to enjoy her five German Shepherds running on acres of land. Here she loved to watch the birds and rabbits roam the property, adding cows and horses to the menagerie of animals which provided her great joy. It was the simple things in life that brought her the greatest pleasures. She is survived by her children, Debra Northern, Vicki Benedetti, James Erickson, Kathy Erickson (Richard Gibson), Tammy Brockman (Carl), and Dwayne Erickson (Debbie); her wonderful daughter-in-law and caregiver, Debbie Erickson; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four nieces, seven great-nieces, a great-nephew, and five great-great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, sister, son, nephew, and two granddaughters. She will be truly missed and will remain in the hearts of many. Services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM, with visitation from 12:00 to 2:00 PM, located at Greenwood Memory Lawn, 719 N. 27th Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona.
