David Gregory, 62, passed away on March 27, 2022 after a long and brave battle with cancer. David was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend, and always there for anyone who needed him. As condolences pour in on texts, emails, cards and social media from friends, neighbors and distant family members who knew him over the decades, the phrase “David was a good man,” is the overwhelming sentiment. David worked as a mason since moving to Arizona from his native Pennsylvania in 1978. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his quiet times with his wife Ruth, his Sunday morning phone calls with his mother Joyce, and his hunting trips with his best friend and co-worker of over 35 years, Walt Watson. His other interests were his amazing DIY projects around the house, as well as cooking. And oh, could he cook! David is survived by his wife Ruth; mother, Joyce; sisters Wendy Gregory, Susan Edwards, Lori Marcy and Julie LaRue; brother Randy; sisters-in-law Laura and Therese Gregory, brother-in-law Mark Marcy, the Selesky crew in Texas, and 26 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Tim Jones, father Herb Gregory and brother Kevin Gregory. Family and friends are broken-hearted and our David will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Viewing will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Phoenix Memorial Park and Mortuary, 200 W. Beardsley Road, Phoenix, with funeral and graveside services to follow at the same location on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of David can be made to the Arizona Elk Society Heroes Rising Outdoors program at https://www.arizonaelksociety.org.
