Connie Marie Green, 76, of Phoenix, passed away on July 12, 2022, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Sterling, Illinois to Eugene and Bernice (Michel) Fester. She graduated from Newman Central Catholic High School in Sterling in 1964 and pursued a career as a Lab Technician. Connie moved to Phoenix in 1973 where she began her career in real estate, eventually managing her own company. She was voted Realtor Associate of the Year in 1985 and earned the Dean B Service award in 1994. Throughout the 1990s’s she served on both the Arizona and National Board of Directors. Connie also served on both the Phoenix and Arizona Associations Professional Standards Committees and was instrumental in the creation of statewide Professional Standards at the Arizona Association of Realtors.
Connie was an active member of her local church and volunteered with several organizations, including St. Vincent De Paul. She helped collect donations of money and food and visited with neighbors in need. Connie’s fellow volunteers said she was an example of how to serve others, she treated people in need with kindness and respect and she continued to pray for them long after their visits.
Connie was an Arizona Diamondbacks season ticket holder since their debut in 1998. She was the keeper of the “Fester family roster” and never turned down red licorice or chocolate chip cookies. Connie enjoyed reading, puzzles and watching Channel 3 but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
