Claude Thomas Griffin

Claude Thomas Griffin, 79, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2013 surrounded by his family. Tom was born in Corbin, Kentucky on October 31, 1933. He graduated in 1955 from the University of California-Berkeley with a BS in Physics and completed his Masters at San Jose State in Computer Science. He worked as a physicist at General Electric, and later in computer science at Lockheed, Hewlett Packard, and for the County of Santa Clara until he retired.

Tom lived in the San Francisco Bay Area most of his life. He retired and moved to Lakeport, CA in 2002. Tom was an avid hiker and cyclist. Tom also had a passion for travel, trains, astronomy and family ancestry.

He was loved and admired by those who knew him. He is survived by four sons John, Mark, James and Michael and his seven grandchildren Jared, Tom, Tyler, Allegra, Jack, Elinor and Georgia.

A family memorial will be held Friday February 8th 3:30 pm at Carr-Tenney Mortuary 2621 South Rural Road, Tempe, AZ 85282.
