Christy was born on May 20, 1963 in Tucson, Arizona to Jana Jo and the late Rodger Hathaway. She attended Holbrook High School where she participated in numerous activities.
In her early years she was involved in many charitable organizations, including the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls, Order of the Eastern Star, and served as a member of Kappa Alpha Theta women’s fraternity while attending Arizona State University. She would go on to be involved in the Alumni chapters of Kappa Alpha Theta for many years.
She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from ASU in 1986. Christy married Dave Harshfield on December 3, 1988 in Phoenix, AZ. The couple moved to Orange County, CA, Minneapolis, MN, and Redwood City, CA where Christy furthered her career in pharmaceutical sales. Eventually, she moved into the Cow Hollow District of San Francisco, the city she loved most. Her professional career spanned pharmaceutical and medical device sales and marketing from 1990 on. She spent her free time exploring the city and experiencing everything it had to offer. She was also a supporter of Autism Speaks and the Alzheimer's Association.
Christy is survived by her immediate family: mother Jana Jo Hathaway, brother and sister in law Robert and Kim Hathaway, niece Rachel, and nephews Noah and Benjamin.
In addition, she is survived by her extended family, the Arnolds: best friend, Kristin, Todd, Zibber and godson Blake as well as many wonderful friends along the way.
A memorial open house will be held at The Foothills Golf Club this Saturday, July 28th from 1-4pm honoring her fierce spirit and immense love. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Autism Speaks or the Alzheimer’s Association in Christy’s memory.
