Carol Sloekers

Carol Esther Sloekers was born in Phoenix, Arizona on June 1, 1939, and she lived almost the entirety of her life in Arizona. She passed away on June 15, 2022. Carol was the daughter of Joseph and Ione Lillywhite, and the sister of Peggy Andelin, Joe Lillywhite and Bill Lillywhite. She married Frank Sloekers, originally from the Netherlands, in 1958. They lived a beautiful and blessed life together until his passing in 2010. Carol graduated from West High School and Arizona State University, and went on to teach English in the Phoenix Union High School District for 25 years. She loved to read, watch movies and travel, and she loved spending time with her family. She was a loving and beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. This sweet, spunky, sassy and classy lady we all knew as "Grammy" will live on in our hearts and precious memories as long as we live. Carol is survived by her sister Peggy, her daughter Tammy Bach and son-in-law John, her son Robert Sloekers and daughter-in-law Jonell, as well as her grandchildren Johann, Kyle and Alex Bach, and Taryn and Ryan Sloekers, and her great grandchildren Audrey, Ellie and Joseph. Rest in eternal peace, dear Grammy.
