Carol Lynn Binder, age 79, of Phoenix, passed away on May 22, 2017. She was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio to Earl G. and Norma (formerly Reider) Lapp. She spent much of her childhood in Avon Lake, Ohio, where she met her future husband, Robert George Binder, while attending school. Bob and Carol have spent 58 years dedicated to each other in marriage. Carol earned her B.A. in speech therapy and was a speech therapist for many years in Santa Monica. She spent most of her working years at Northridge Medical Center in Reseda, CA. Of course, she has done all of this while being a homemaker, dedicated to her husband and four children. In her free time, Carol was an avid reader and enjoyed all types of literature. Although she has had bouts with cancer for over 30 years of her life, she struggled bravely and will be remembered for her frequent smile and positive disposition.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, who died in infancy, Earl Lapp. She is survived by her husband, Bob Binder; 4 children, Whitney (John) Hughes, Kristin Binder, Rob (Delia) Binder, and Todd (Dawn) Binder; a sister, Sally (Al) Strauss; a brother, Lee (Linda) Lapp; and 10 Grandchildren.
Arrangements under the direction of Shadow Mountain Mortuary, Phoenix, AZ.
