Born to Helen Sue Harper and Collins Simmons on the 13th of January, 1947, in Pollocksville, North Carolina. As a young man Carl Simmons graduated from Boston Trade Vocational High School as an electrical apprentice and furthered his studies graduating from the New England Telephone/Telegraph Company Central Station Installers School. After graduation, Carl enlisted into the Air Force, serving our country for over twenty-six years. He served twice in the Vietnam War and achieved the one of the highest enlisted ranks in the Air Force, Senior Master Sergeant.
Although Carl had immense intelligence and strength, it was his loving heart that touched so many. He married three times in life and took away something from each marriage: to live, to laugh, and to love. Mr. Simmons was a hard-working man, after retiring from military service he began a new career at Corbin Electric. When he wasn’t working, he devoted time doing the things he loved: bowling, golfing, spending time with his friends and family. Carl ensured he had time to include everyone and everything he loved in his life.
