Brooke was born June 24th 1994, in Aurora Colorado to Darren and Lana (Dunkirk) Spradling. 15 months after she was born, her best friend arrived into the world, her brother Dylan. They were two peas in a pod, the played, they fought, they loved each other very much. When Brooke was in elementary school, she met her older sister Nichole, she was so excited to have an older sister!
Brooke attended Running Creek Elementary School and Elizabeth Middle School in Elizabeth, Colorado. In 2008 the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona and she attended Desert Mountain Middle School and graduated from Boulder Creek High School in 2012.
Brooke started gymnastics at the age of 5, she had the natural ability of a gymnast and competed for several years, she won 1st place “all around” at the Colorado State Gymnastics Championship in 2002. She earned many blue ribbons and medals and her family loved watching her compete. During gymnastics she created life long friendships not only for herself, but for her parents as well.
She was also very active in dance, volleyball, basketball and track, Brooke enjoyed these activities with her friends growing up.
After graduation the family moved back to Elizabeth and Brooke wanted to be a cosmetologist, she attended Paul Mitchell Hair School in Colorado Springs and achieved her Colorado cosmetology license. She really loved and missed Arizona, so she moved back to Arizona on her own in 2014 where she also obtained her Arizona cosmetology license. She worked at Dolce Salon and Spa in Scottsdale as an assistant hair stylist for a year, she then started her own salon within Sola Studio Suites, she named it High Volume Hair Studio. She was very proud of having her own business and she was very good at her profession. She was very organized and kept great track of her inventory, retail product and receipts.
Brooke loved the Arizona sunsets, she would tell her parents on numerous occasions she loved to drive around in her jeep with the music playing and watch the sunset. She had recently started a new hobby which was golf. We wish we could have had the chance to golf with her, being the natural athlete she was, she was probably better than we were!
She loved taking her dog “Leo” to the dog parks, or up to hills of Sedona and play in the rivers with him. Her boyfriend Andrew had given her Leo as a puppy on Brooke’s 23rd birthday, he brought her a lot of happiness.
We enjoyed so many family trips, from camping, to house boating on Lake Powell, going to San Diego, Mexico, and the most favorite….our annual family trip to Maui. We are all very grateful for these memories that will last forever.
She loved the things most girls loved- getting her nails done, hair done, makeup, jewelry and most of all SHOPPING! Brooke loved Starbucks and Chipotle. When she was going to cosmetology school she ate lunch there almost every day and the employees knew her order by heart and she wouldn’t even have to tell them anymore, they would just get it ready for her.
Brooke loved being an “Auntie” to Riley and Chance, her niece and nephew from her sister Nichole and husband Jason. She loved to spoil them and spend time with them whenever she was home visiting from Arizona.
She was a beautiful girl inside and out and there was no limit on how much she could help others and give with all of her heart. She was loved by so many and will continue to be loved for the rest of our lives.
