Albert E Gomez was born June 13, 1936 in Phoenix, Arizona. He passed away peacefully on April 18, 2023. As a child, Albert and his family worked in the fields during the summers in California. Later he went to school and upon graduation he joined the US Air Force and became a cook. He was an air refueling operator upon his leaving the military service. During this time he married Sally (Celia) and started a family. Albert also worked at Reynolds Aluminum company.
Albert decided to leave the military after eight years of service and also left Reynolds Aluminum. He began his long career of 31 years with the US Postal Service. He realized he was not done cooking as this was his passion. He decided to enroll in culinary school and graduated at the top of his class. This passion led him to work at Arizona Cardinal Stadium where he loved the long hours during game day.
After years of serving our country as a veteran, letter carrying mail for our community, and cooking for avid football fans, Albert decided to retire fully! He then began his passion for spending time with his family - especially the grandkids.
Albert is preceded in death by his first wife, Celia; second wife, Lydia; his parents, Alberto and Theresa Gomez; and his three brothers - Raul, Ernie, and Gilbert.
He is survived by his daughter, Christine Pharris (John), sons - Albert, Michael, and George. Also left to cherish his memory are 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.
