Tommy Leon Sanders

A visitation for family and friends for Tommy will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary - Phenix City, 3770 Highway 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867. Following the visitation for family and friends will be a celebration of life graveside service at 11:00 AM at Lakeview Memory Gardens, 3800 Hwy 431 North, Phenix City, Alabama 36867.

Mr. Sanders was born June 30, 1940 in Phenix City, Alabama; son of the late Clarence and Lottie Howard Sanders. He was a long time employee of the Bibb Mill in Columbus, Georgia and later retired from Denham of North America. He was a skilled mechanic who loved working on cars and loved hunting.

Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Dorothy Jean Sanders and his sister, Joyce Kacer.

Survivors include his children, Tommy Leon Sanders, Jr. (Mary), Timothy Lee Sanders (Martha), Teresa Nevels (John), Ricky Turnage (Lisa), Edward Turnage (Miranda), Danny Sanders (Sabrena); brothers, Edward Sanders (Evaniel), Terry Sanders, sister, Dorothy Godwin (Larry), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
