Tina Louise Kearney passed into the arms of Jesus on April 15,2025 at home in Chesnee, SC. She was born on November 10, 1936 in Phenix City, AL. Tina was the daughter of the late Homer Franklin Johnson and Bernice Nevels Johnson.
She married Frederick L. Kearney, Sr. in 1954. She then followed him all over the world due to his 24 year Army career. With every change in post she made a loving home for her family. She became involved with each community. She served as president of the PTA, president of the NCO wife’s club and volunteered in many organizations and her church. Nothing was more important to her than her faith and her family.
She graduated from Columbus Tech in 1968 with an associate degree in medical office assistant studies. She worked in several doctor’s offices during her career.
Tina was a member of Central Baptist church in Phenix City, AL. She served as a Sunday School teacher and in AWANA. She enjoyed decorating for the Young at Heart luncheons each month.
Tina attended View Church in Boiling Springs, SC after moving to SC to live with one of her daughters. She was an active member and loved her Sunday School class and all the friends she made there.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Frederick L Kearney Sr., brothers Frank Johnson and Harry Johnson, sisters Geneva Hammock, Annette Chambley, Marie Johnson, and her twin sister Nina Johnson.
Tina is survived by her children Frieda Hisker and husband Rich of Chesnee,SC , Angela Franklin and husband Steve of Phenix City, AL, and Frederick Kearney, Jr. and wife Misty of Salem, AL. and sister in laws Florece Kearney of Minden, LA and Barbara Johnson of Dayton, OH. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 3 great great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved so very much.
The family will receive friends on Friday April 18 from 6:00 until 8:00 at Striffler-Hamby in Phenix City, AL. Services will by on Saturday April 19 at 11:00 at the funeral home with Rev.
