Katherine Ann Robinson

Katherine Ann Mathews Robinson passed away 28 April 2023 in Valley, AL after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She leaves behind her son Michael Robinson of Fairburn, GA, granddaughter Amy Webb (John) of Sparta, Wisconsin, 2 great grandchildren Allison and Jonas Webb, and many nieces and nephews and friends. Katie (as she was known) was born 23 September 1931 to Enoch and Annie Kate (Booker) Mathews. Katie was a graduate of Central High School in Phenix City, AL where she was also a cheerleader. She attended Auburn University where she graduated with a degree in education. Katie married Donald “Don” Robinson on 23 June 1953 in Phenix City, AL and they had two children. Katie taught in Phenix City Public Schools and at Glenwood School in Phenix City for many years. Katie was a member of Central Christian Church in Columbus, GA for most of her life. She was also a published author as she helped her husband in the writing of the first 100 years of Central Christian Church’s history. Katie was predeceased by her husband Don, her daughter Beth Robinson Conner, both parents, and 3 siblings. At the request of the family there will be no wake, as a graveside memorial service is planned for 11:00 A.M. EDT Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Lakeview Memory Gardens in Phenix City, Alabama.
