James Patrick O'Hern, age 32, of Olympia, Washington passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2020. A visitation for family & friends will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 US Hwy 280/ 431N, Phenix City, AL 36867 . Strict COVID-19 safety practices and social distancing will be in place.
James was born September 14, 1988 in Columbus, GA to Anna Marie Vester-O'Hern and Floyd Carlton O'Hern, Jr. (Linda). He grew up in Smiths Station, AL and graduated from Smiths Station High School. He lived in Olympia, WA for many years and was employed as a Car Audio Specialist and Electrician. James had many friends in Washington and they lovingly called him “Georgia” due to his being a very excited and life-long Georgia Bulldog fan. They loved to hear him talk and encouraged him to do so because they enjoyed listening to his “southern twang” accent (and making fun of it too). James was full of fun and laughter and was a car audio enthusiast receiving many 1st Place awards for his talent with car stereos and auto details at Car Shows. Although his passion was extreme car audios, his hobby had taken 2nd Place in his life for the past 3 years because of a NEW love in his life, his beautiful daughter Adrian. She was born and suddenly his focus and priorities were forever changed. James dedicated his love, life, and attention to being the best “Babes” that little Adrian could have. A loving father (Babes), son, grandson, fiancé, nephew, and cousin, James is missed so much already. Our hearts are completely broken but we are somewhat comforted in knowing he is now with his grandmother Mattie Ethel Bell.
James is survived by his precious daughter Adrian Nicole O'Hern, mother Anna Marie Vester-O'Hern and father Floyd Carlton O'Hern, Jr. (Linda), maternal grandmother Joyce Marie Vester (David Eugene Vester), aunt Rayna Sizemore, aunt Rose Lipe, aunt Janice Bradley, fiance Melissa Merrick, aunt Dianne McCallister (Mike), aunt Veronica McMillion (Mike) and uncle Alex Bell (Kristina) and many cousins.
James was preceded in death by his grandfather Floyd Carlton O'Hern, Sr., grandmother Mattie Ethel Bell and grandfather David Eugene Vester.
