Betty Corbitt Johnson

Betty Sue Corbitt Johnson, 66 of Phenix City, AL, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011 in Columbus, GA. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. EDT in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 3770 Hwy 431 N., Phenix City, AL, 36867 with burial to follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Serving as pall bearers are Gerald McDaniel, Jeff Ferreira, Carlos Aguiar, Dale Corbitt, Jerry Corbitt, Jr. and Brian Corbitt.

Mrs. Johnson was born August 27, 1944 in Phenix City, Alabama, daughter of the late Reuben G. and Mary Alice Jackson Corbitt. She was a member of Shady Woods Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Michelle Keith of Manassas, VA, son, Christopher Johnson of Phenix City, AL, sisters, Patricia Dennison of Ocala, FL, Glenda Faye McDaniel of Charleston, SC, Barbara Ferreira of Fairhaven, MA, brothers, Reuben Corbitt, James Corbitt and Jerry Corbitt all of Phenix City, AL, grandchildren, Marcus Johnson, Jacqueline Keith, Sharmaine Keith, Ariana Keith, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Vista Care Hospice, 2425 Williams Rd., Columbus, GA 31909.
