Rudy Benavides

Rudy was born in San Juan, TX, raised a family in Pharr, and had the opportunity to travel around the United States as a truck driver. Rudy was a hard-worker, loved to garden, read books, and especially spend time with his children and big brother, Gabriel (Buddy); they were inseparable. He will be remembered for his compassion and selflessness.

Rudy is preceded in death by his parents, Gabriel Benavidez and Corina Salinas Lopez, his son, Edgar Isai Ramos.

He is survived by his wife, Blanca Sylvia Benavides, from Pharr, his son's Hugo Harim Ramos from Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Zuriel Ivan Ramos of Pharr, and his daughters, Erika Vianney Benavides and Karina Carrie Benavides of Pharr; 8 grandchildren, and his siblings, Sylvia B. Gregory of Houston, TX, Sandra B. Garza of Dallas, TX, Gabriel 'Buddy' Benavidez Jr, Elvira 'Bita' B. Molina, and Corina B, Garza, all from Pharr; Oliver Benavidez of Dallas, TX, and Santiago 'Jimmy' Benavidez, and Debra Benavidez Reyes, of McAllen TX.

Family will receive friends Monday, July 24, 2017 from 12 pm to 9 pm with a rosary recited at 7 pm at Palm Valley Funeral Home of Pharr. Chapel service will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 11 am at Palm Valley Funeral Home of Pharr. Interment will follow to Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palm Valley Funeral Home of Pharr.
