Roy passed away while returning home from distributing food and clothing to those in need in Progresso, Mexico; his generosity earned him a special place in Heaven, for he was an Angel to many on Earth.
Born in Pharr, Texas, Roy traveled the world serving his country and, after his honorable ARMY discharge, resided in McAllen, Texas. He graduated from Idaho State University with a Bachelor's degree. Roy went to work for Union Pacific Railroad when living in Pocatello, Idaho. Later, he moved to Las Vegas to continue to work for Union Pacific Railroad. Rojelio was a proud ARMY Veteran and retired from Union Pacific Railroad after 37 years. At this time, he retired and moved to McAllen, Texas. He also loved fishing, hunting, playing pool and bingo, and taking long walks daily. Roy was a loving and caring son, brother, uncle, and friend who opened his arms to those in need. He was a proud Veteran with a golden heart. To his beloved sisters, he was the person to go to. His charismatic and charming personality will live forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
The world has lost a hero, and Heaven has gained an Angel.

He is survived by his beloved brother and sisters, Minerva U. O’Brien, Elsa Perales, Alicia U Ortiz, Zulema Flores, Anna U Cadena, Imelda Urrea, Santiago Espinoza; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM with a rosary at 6:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley, 4607 North Sugar Road, Pharr, Texas 8577. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Funeral services are under the direction of Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr, Texas.
