Maria was family oriented and enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews whom she adored dearly. She was extremely work oriented and devoted over 25 years to the Office of the Inspector General for Texas. After a dedicated and demanding day in the office, Maria enjoyed relaxing and having a glass of merlot. Maria was a beloved daughter, sister and friend who was witty, sassy and bossy. Her unique personality and charisma will be forever remembered and greatly missed.
Maria was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Maria will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Simply stated, Maria was a good and kind person, a person who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Maria leaves behind a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Maria Guadalupe Pena.
Maria is survived by mother Maria Elena Tijerina; brothers Carlos Pena, Victor Pena, Leo Garcia, brother Jaime Garcia; sisters San Juanita Palacios, Ruby Coronado, Anett Garcia and Yvonne Garcia; numerous nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends..
Maria was preceded in death by father Alfredo Pena, maternal grandmother Maria Reyes, and nephew Johnny Coronado Jr.
A visitation for Maria will be held Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 9:00 AM at Funeraria Del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr with her funeral service being recited at 2:00 PM with her interment to follow at 3:00 PM at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
