Born in La Presa, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. She lived her childhood in La Presita and from 1950's until today in Edinburg, Texas. In February of 1950, Emilia married the love of her life Genaro Rodriguez. Mr.Genaro and Emilia created a beautiful family with nine children, with the foundation of respect, unity, and love. Emilia enjoyed outdoors, gardening, travel, crocheid, cooking, and playing bingo. The light of her eyes was her son, +Leonardo -this friday they reunited for an eternity. She was a role model for her children, she taught her children to work hard, be respectful individuals and love one another. Emilia was family oriented woman, who dedicated her life to guide her children.- Her children were always first before her. She enjoyed sharing her life stories, and her cooking recipes. Her unique personality, her charisma, and smile will live forever on the hearts of her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Genaro Rodriguez;her son's, Carlos and Leonardo Rodriguez; her grandson, J. Daniel Ayala.
Emilia is survived by seven children, Rosendo (Delia) Rodriguez, Fernando (Gloria) Rodriguez, Anna Maria (Jose Luis) Cisneros, Alicia (Eduardo) Guerra, Senaida (Daniel) Ayala, Rogelio Rodriguez, Sonia (Porfirio) Aguilar; 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr. A catholic funeral service will take place at 10 am on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley of Pharr.
