Angel Martinez

Angel, son of Pedro and Graciela Martinez, grew up in Tampico. He opened his body shop in Reynosa, after a few years decided that the best for his family was to move to Mcallen, Tx. He settled down with the love of his life, Rosalinda, and their wonderful daughters; Rosy, Nancy, Esperanza, and Maria. Buddy was a very joyful man and brought a smile to everyone's faces when he entered the room. He was known for his friendliness and had family everywhere. He loved Elvis and singing his songs. The apple of his eye was his wife, daughters, and grandchildren. He expressed his love by feeding his family and friends; and even those he did not know. He loved nature and being able to use it for medicinal purposes.

Buddy, loved to visit his sister, Esperanza, and always looked after her. He liked singing and dancing for her as well as bringing her favorite foods. Although he was a very loved man he did not back down from a fight. His boxing skills always shined through. On the weekend you could find him all dress up at the flea market.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Graciela Martinez; his brother, Bonifacio Martinez, Benita Cruz, and Inez Borrego.

Buddy is survived by his wife, Rosalinda; his four daughters, Rosy (John) Sevier, Nancy (Philip) Petrakos, Esperanza (Roman) Garay, Maria (Eloy) Aguirre; his 12 grandchildren, Manuel, Erick, John, Diana, Francisco, Angel, Jonathan, Jesslyn, Roman, Brianna, Samantha, Eloy; six great-grandchildren, Catalina, Ariel, Caroline, Alejandro, Isabella, Natalia; three siblings, Esperanza Del Angel, Margarita Oviedo, Artemio Martinez; numerous extended family.

Visitation will be held from 3 pm to 11 pm, with a 7 pm rosary on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley in Pharr. Catholic Mass will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Burial will be held at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
