Willie "Roy" Martin, Jr.

On Thursday, July 23, 2020 at approximately 1:00 p.m. at his home, Willie (Roy) Martin, Jr., affectionately called “Roy”, a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and resident of Round Rock, Texas took off earthly troubles and put on his Heavenly wings.

Roy was born August 2, 1975 to the union of Mrs. Barbara Faye Williams Martin and the late Reverend Willie Roy Martin, Sr. He was a 1993 graduate of Woodlawn High School, and a 1998 graduate of Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Electronics Engineering. He accepted Christ as Lord and Savior at the age of six and was baptized at the Greater New Galilee Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana by the Reverend C. N. Burrell and his father. Roy heard and accepted the call to the ministry, completed the Minister’s Institute of Christian Bible College of Southeast Louisiana on May 12, 2006 and was ordained on May 27, 2006 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Slidell, Louisiana. He was employed by Q2 Software as a Staff Software Engineer, a job he loved.

Roy is known for his unwavering love for God and His Word, his adoration for his family, his diehard dedication to the New Orleans Saints, and a continuous craving for Crawfish. His contagious comedic personality, sweet smile, and serene spirit was treasured and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Roy was married to the love of his life, Kimberly Sherese Noah Martin, on August 2, 1997. To this union, four children were born.

Roy leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his wife, Kimberly Martin, four children, Chance, Colby, Avery and Zoe Martin, mother, Barbara Faye Williams Martin, sister, Melissa Martin-Chambers, brother Harold Dorsey (Deedra), mother-in-law, Shelia Noah, sister-in-law, Nicole Noah, godmother Dolores Williams, four Godchildren, Darilyn A. Noah, Austin Brown, Kamryn Noah-Rheams, and Jermanie M. Williams, and a host of other relatives and friends who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Roy Martin, Sr., brother-in-law, Jetson “June” Chambers, godfather Richard L. Williams, and maternal and paternal grandparents, and an unborn child whom he held in his heart.
