Thomas was born November 2, 1922, in Goforth, Texas to Tomas and Josepha Galindo. He served four years during World War II with the Army Air Corps as a Radio Operator and later became a four bronze starred Staff Sergeant till his discharge September 23, 1945. After returning from the war, he rejoined the family business, El Fenix, and eventually met his future wife, Ernestine Galindo in 1950. After marrying Ernestine in 1955, the new family business, El Galindo, emerged while Thomas and Ernestine raised two sons, Thomas and Guillermo Galindo.
He had a passion for tinkering with clocks, cameras, and flashlights. He loved collecting grandfather clocks that could be heard and felt from every angle within his home when all the clocks struck a new hour. He was a man of few words, but when he did speak, it was with wit and a sweet smile.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Tomas and Josepha, his brothers, Ramon and Joe Galindo, his sisters, Juanita Sandavol, Felicita LaFuente, and Mary Berera. He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Galindo, his eldest son, Thomas Galindo, his youngest son, Guillermo, his four grandchildren, Candice Zenquiz, Crystal Cruz, Cassidy Galindo, Christopher Lopez-Galindo, and his three great grandchildren, Rozlyn Cruz, Vaughn Cruz, and Madelyn Fogt.
He is the last of the six Galindo siblings to pass.
