Stephanie Lyons was born on May 1, 1947 in Miami, Florida. She was the 2nd of four daughters born during the marriage of the late Lois Cannady and George Harris Jr., and granddaughter of the late Ora Maxwell.
Stephanie attended Miami Northwestern High School and later received her General Education Diploma in 1967 from the Dorsey Skills Center. She was certified as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1968. After working as a Licensed Practical Nurse for 15 years, Stephanie successfully completed Nursing school and became a Registered Nurse in 1983. She later realized her dream of completing her college degree by obtaining her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Florida International University in 1994. Stephanie held multiple positions during her career and retired as a Nurse Manager in the Jackson Memorial Hospital System. Altogether, Stephanie had over 49 years of nursing experience. While she was officially retired, her nursing license was still active in Texas at the time of her passing.
Stephanie accepted Christ at an early age and had a strong love and passion for the Word of God. She, along with Iris Woodson, established Ministries during her early twenties and thirties. Stephanie was a guest speaker on many occasions and briefly co-hosted a weekly radio show on the WMBM Gospel Station in Miami, Florida.
After retiring in 2005, Stephanie moved to Jarrell, Texas and later became a member of Church of the Harvest in Round Rock, Texas, under the leadership of Fred and Stephanie Timmons. She was ordained as a Licensed Elder of the Gospel on December 20, 2009 and completed the Sonship School of The Firstborn program in December of 2015. Stephanie was an Anointed Speaker, Counselor, Leader, and was gifted in the areas of Wisdom and Prophecy. She was known for her ability to counsel and deliver serious messages with delicacy, wisdom, and most importantly, love.
In early 1983, Stephanie met the love of her life; David Lyons. The two would later marry on July 29, 1983 and begin the journey of a lifetime. David and Stephanie were inseparable and developed a strong love that will endure beyond this lifetime.
Stephanie Darlene Harris Lyons departed from this earth, assumed her heavenly body, and left those who truly loved her. She leaves behind her memories to be cherished by her loving husband of 34 years, David Lyons; mother-in-Law, Ola Jackson (Larry); her sisters, Beverly Williams of Miami, Florida and Pamela Toomer (Johnny) of Miramar, Florida; her children, LaShawn Hollis, Sonya Jones, Victor Mumford, Torris Lloyd (Nakia), Katurah Ford, Eric Lyons (Lorrie), Tara Lyons; 23 grandchildren, Nicole Aleshire (B.T.), Shauntay Mitchell, Taurean (Kirtrail), Je’Nee Ridley, LaChae Mumford, Kevon Mumford, Kameron Jones, Amber Shepp, Asia Lloyd, Khristian Hollis, Jalam Ford, Devin Lloyd, Katie Mumford, Justin Lloyd, Jayden Ford, DeKiyah Ford, Dwayne Ford Jr., Victoria Mumford, Vanessa Mumford, Victor Mumford Jr., Kaila Lyons, Jordan Lyons, Ethan Lyons; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; Lois and George Harris Jr.; grandmothers, Ora Maxwell and Elizabeth Harris Claire; uncles, William Harris and Ezekiel Claire; and sister, Cassandra Davis.
