Ryan was born on December 20, 1971 to Sandy and Pat Callaham. He was baptized on December 31, 1971 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Austin, TX and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church where he attended school. He was married to Nikki Marie Welch on May 10, 1997 at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Austin, TX.
He loved spending time in the garage making knives and leather working, as well as the outdoors and deer hunting. He took immense pride in coaching his granddaughter’s softball team just as he did in the early years coaching his son Cooper and niece Caylee. He was so much to so many: board member, mentor, published author, and dear friend. His greatest treasure was his love of family.
Ryan is survived by his wife, Nikki Callaham, son Cooper Welch (Lacey), father Sandy Callaham, sister Kimber Matocha (Brian). He was known as “Grumper” to his two granddaughters Jolee and Rowan Welch, nieces and nephews Caylee Studdard (Jacob) great niece Alayna Studdard, Coy Matocha, Cade Matocha, Haylee Bradham (Greg), Katie Badinger (Cameron), Caleb Birdwell (Leeza) great niece Daisey and Sarah Birdwell.
Ryan was proceeded in death by his mother, Patricia Linebrink Callaham, grand parents George & Agnes Linebrink, Maxine Callaham Hester, uncles Richard Wansley, Red Callaham and Tim Knippa.
Those who knew Ryan were blessed. He loved, laughed, and lived BIG! He was a deep thinker, a loud and proud American and tender hearted with those he loved so dearly. He found the silver-lining in most every situation and had the right words to say when they were desperately needed. He was a philosopher, a hard worker and a friend to so many who will miss him greatly.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.cookwaldencapitalparks.com for the Callaham family.
