Robert (Rob) William Bertke passed away in Round Rock, Texas on November 26, 2020. At an early age Rob excelled in academics, athletics, and music. While attending Midway High School in Waco, TX, Rob focused on his love of playing and composing music, being recognized locally, statewide, and nationally. He expressed his love of music throughout his life recording countless hours of his own creations and developing many lifelong friendships by helping local bands and musicians. Whether running the soundboard, tracking drums, or mixing recordings, Rob was always there to lend a hand. His friendly smile, amazing heart, and outgoing personality touched countless people throughout his short time here. As an adult, Rob owned and operated his own business for over 15 years. Moving into the service industry later in life allowed him to make even more dear friends and spread his cheerful character. Fall was his favorite time of year as his Buckeyes would play each Saturday. Even though Rob grew up in Texas, his father attended the Ohio State University and inspired both his sons to be lifelong Buckeyes. The family always gathered together each Saturday in the fall to watch the Buckeyes play. When he was not with his family or working, you could always find Rob in a local pool hall playing 9-ball with his friends. Rob was a loving father to his daughter, Courtney, and a doting uncle to his niece, Katrena, and nephew, J.T. He loved his long talks with Courtney, taking Katrena to lunch, and watching J.T. play baseball.
Rob was born on July 9, 1970 in Columbus Ohio to Robert and Linda Bertke. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert N. Bertke on June 4, 2019. Left to mourn his passing are his mother Linda, daughter Courtney, brother and sister-in-law Steve and Kimberly, their children Katrena and J.T., and countless dear friends.
