Pamela Jan Knipstein, born November 23, 1956, in Giddings, Texas, died on Saturday December 31, 2022. She was the first daughter born to Raymond and Becky Knipstein and the sister to Kristi Dowding and brother-in-law William Dowding. They describe Pamela as sweet, loving, and happy.
During her time at home, Pamela took it upon herself to always help with chores around the house. Pamela enjoyed the calendar, was very structured, and loved being on schedule. Every day she would always have a diet soda at 4:25 on the dot. During her free time, she loved listening to music, specifically country music, and spent many hours singing and dancing or listening to her exclusive album collection. Another hobby of Pamela’s was coloring.
Pamela, who graduated from the Clifton Center in 1979, was very social and had lots of friends. Pam loved to talk and eat. After graduation, she looked forward to meeting up with schoolmates for monthly parties to stay in touch, celebrating birthdays, dance and share food.
Growing up, Pamela was very involved in her community. She participated in the Special Olympics, competing in track and field, swimming and bowling. She was extremely active in her church community as well. She loved God and her ‘church family’ very much. She devoted every Saturday to reading and preparing for her Sunday school lesson the following day. She took pride in being a servant to God and reliable for her church.
Pamela was also very proud of her 34-year career at McDonald’s. She celebrated every work anniversary with an apple pie. She worked hard and loved her job. Pamela, who was outgoing, had a contagious smile and brought happiness to all around her. One time, while at work, Earl Campbell brought her an autographed football.
Pamela was very passionate about football, especially the Texas Longhorns team. Every game day she wore her UT shirt; and would lay out her pom-poms and other game gear, so that she would be ready to cheer them on. She was always happy to share a “Hook ‘em” with whomever she came into contact with.
While at Trinity, Pamela loved her independence and was greatly loved by the staff.
