Norma was born at home on May 30, 1934 in Buckholts, Texas to the late Paul William Krenek and Hermina Sophia (Mikulec) Krenek. She was a graduate of Saint Mary’s Catholic High School in Taylor, Texas, Class of 1953. Norma was a loving and devoted wife and mother, she made her career raising her family. Later in life she worked and retired from Pflugerville ISD. She was a longtime dedicated member of Saint Albert the Great Catholic Church where she participated in the Bereavement Committee and was a member of the Great Club.
Norma was a true “one of a kind” and she will be forever remembered for her deep passion for her faith, family and friends. Norma enjoyed family gatherings, traveling, card games and especially playing dominoes. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Norma was known for her warm smile and love of her grandchildren and her great grandbabies.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Virgil L. Klaus; four sons, Randy Klaus, and wife Becky, Mark Klaus, and wife Debra, Steven Klaus, and wife Julie and Kevin Klaus, wife Robin; one daughter, Linda Kurio, and husband Floyd; 14 grandchildren, Valerie, Krista, Randall, Derek, Jacqueline, Hannah, Heather, Skylyn, Jordan, Sydney, Jacob, Jeffery, Wade and Katelyn; 12 great-grandchildren, Addison, Megan, Andrew, Avery, Brooks, Kayleigh, Barrett, Kip, Skylar, Steely, Emily, Abigail and one great- grandson due in September; as well as many extended family members and close friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 23 from 5:00 p.m. until the time of a Rosary service at 6:00 p.m. and following the Rosary service until 7:00 p.m. at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 12041 Bittern Hollow Austin, Texas 78758. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
