

Nell Christine Rust, 93, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025. She was born November 22, 1931, in Georgetown, Texas, to Philip and Alice (Anderson) Youngbloom. Nell was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Nell was a member of the United Christian Church in Austin, Texas. She and Bill were always active members and enjoyed taking on various leadership roles throughout the years. Nell and Bill were also members of Saengerrunde and Scandinavian clubs in Austin where they loved to Dance the night away.
For many years Nell volunteered at the Trinity Care Center in Round Rock, Texas. She loved to play the piano for residents. She earned numerous awards and certificates for her service.
Although Nell attended business school after graduating from Hutto High School, Nell’s greatest joy in life was being a homemaker and taking care of her precious Grandchildren. She loved to take care of the Grandkids over school Holidays and taking them on vacation. She and Bill especially enjoyed taking them to Houston, Galveston, and their family Ranch in Hamilton.
Nell loved to host company and socialize with family, friends, and neighbors. She made sure no one ever went hungry in her house as she was always cooking delicious homemade meals. The Holidays were a special time for Nell as she loved to decorate her house, host parties, and give gifts to all.
She was truly a Grandma to all who met her. She never met a stranger and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her son, Bryan Rust, grandchildren Brandon Rust, Holly (Lasater) Rust and husband Ben, niece Bonnie (Larson) McBride, and nephew Larry Larson.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Bill Rust, parents Philip and Alice Youngbloom, daughter, Pamela (Rust)Sharp, and sister Ora Mae (Larson) Youngbloom.
A visitation will be held 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. and burial at 3:00 p.m., all at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks, 14501 N. Interstate Hwy 35, Pflugerville, Texas. A reception will follow, where family and friends can share their memories and celebrate Nell’s life.
