Canadian born in Waldheim, Saskatchewan, she was raised in a Mennonite farming community. At a very early age, Naomi’s wish was to become a nurse and to help others. After completing nursing school, she moved to California where she met and married Mong Kwock Chew (Jerry), who worked in the same hospital.
She came to Texas 20 years ago so she could be close to her boys and their families. Naomi was a dedicated wife for 56 years. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Jan; son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Kim; grandchildren, Jennafer, Tyler, Jonathon, Brent and Shelby; and a host of family and friends.
She loved the Lord and continued her dream to help others by remaining active in various church activities such as serving meals in the church kitchen. She received great pleasure by providing visitations to others through the Homebound Ministry for over 10 years. She was also an active member of the Women's Missionary Union. WMU challenges Christian believers to understand and be radically involved in the mission of God.
A memorial service will be held on June 13th at the First Baptist Church, Round Rock. She has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be sent to the Texas Baptist Children’s Home.
