She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Roy Lackey; her parents; her brother, Oscar Wyatt, Jr. and her daughter, Sandra Spindle.
Louise was born October 3, 1926 in San Angelo to Oscar and Myrtle Wyatt. She graduated in 1944 from San Angelo Central High School and attended Hardin Simmons University.
On June 7, 1946, she married Roy Lackey, Jr. who was working for her father at the San Angelo Livestock Auction company. A daughter, Sandra Kay and a son, Douglas soon followed. They bought a ranch near Adamsville in Lampasas County and raised their children.
Louise worked for many years at the hospital in Burnet. Roy and Louise spent much of their retirement years in the Big Bend Country at the Stillwell RV Park where she worked in the store and he gave jeep tours. They later moved to New Mexico and ran an RV park in Timberon, making many friends there. They sold their house in 2004 and moved to Pflugerville to be closer to their son.
She took up landscape painting following retirement, winning several local contests and leaving a beautiful legacy.
She is survived by her son, Douglas Lackey and wife Jean of Pflugerville; brother-in-law, Gerald Lackey of San Angelo; two grandchildren, Lara Ingalsbe and husband Garry of Salado and Scott Lackey of Pflugerville; and three great-grandchildren, LeeAnne Ingalsbe, LeeWayne Ingalsbe, and Larissa Baker.
Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Cook Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions may be made payable to Candy Blair for the Activities Fund at Park Place Nursing Home.
