Larry Kaelin of Cedar Park, Texas passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the age of 86 after battling Alzheimer’s Disease for more than 10 years. He was born on May 5, 1938, in Jeffersonville, Indiana where he grew up and attended Jeffersonville High School. He served honorably and drove tanks in the United States Army Reserve. Larry earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and a master’s degree from the University of Southern California. Business-minded and entrepreneurial in nature, Larry spent most of his career in the real estate industry. He owned and operated several businesses over the years including the Calico Pony (children’s store), Transcor Properties (real estate), and owned/managed several rental houses.
Larry was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Northwest Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Janet Kaelin, his sister Linda Harlow, and one of his sons, Jason Kaelin. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Suzy Kaelin, his daughter Lisa Richards (Chris Richards), his son David Kaelin (Kelly Kaelin), and his three grandchildren Taryn Schnur, Marian Kaelin, and Evan Kaelin.
