Mr. Khiem Van Nguyen was born on August 12, 1931 in Son La, Do Luong, Vietnam. He was the only child of Mr. Chinh Van Nguyen and Mrs. Trinh Thi Nguyen. His father died of illness when he was just over 1 year old. He grew up in the loving care of his grandmother and widowed mother.
He and Mrs. Tram Thi Hoang married in 1952.
In 1954, he brought his family to emigrate to the South of Vietnam and settled in Saigon. He is the father of six children, three boys and three girls.
In 1992 he and his family were reunited in the United States with his two older sons who had successfully immigrated before. They settled in Austin, TX.
A devout Catholic, Mr. Khiem lived a life of service and charity. During his 30 years in the United States, he participated in many activities offered by the Holy Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church in Austin. He served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the League of the Sacred Heart. He often sent money and sometimes personally returned to Vietnam to help the poor.
On January 2, 2023, Mr. Nguyen passed away peacefully in his sleep in Arlington Texas while surrounded by his family. He was 91 years old.
He will be profoundly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, relatives, family, and friends near and far.

A visitation for Khiem will be held Friday, January 13, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Holy Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church, 1107 E Yager Ln., Austin, Texas 78753. A funeral service will occur Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 10:00 AM, 1107 E Yager Ln., Austin, Texas 78753. A committal service will occur Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S I-35, Austin, Texas 78704.
Khiem will be laid to rest in Assumption Cemetery , 3650 S I-35, Austin, Texas 78704.
