Karen Eash Miller, a daughter given by the Lord to Mahlon and Emma (Yoder) Eash, was born in LaGrange, Indiana on August 7, 1954, and died in her home in Round Rock, TX, early Thursday morning, October 6, 2011, following a short period of declining strength and health due to pancreatic cancer. The span of her earthly pilgrimage was 57 years, 1 month and 29 days. In the days prior to her passing she had expressed to her family members her desire to have her suffering be over and to depart and be with the Lord.
Today we rejoice in the knowledge that she has passed the barrier of time as we know it and is forever at home with the Savior she faithfully served. On September 4 of 1976 she was married to Paul Eugene Miller who survives. Together, for 35 years, 1 month, and 2 days, they experienced the changing scenes of life in the joyous and fruitful companionship, which the Lord had entrusted to them.
Karen’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. She touched so many lives, in person and on Facebook, with her encouraging words and thoughts, or even just by saying hello to let people know she’s thinking of them.
Surviving along with her husband Paul are; one son: Kevin Lee, and future daughter-in-law, Michelle Marie of Ft. Myers, Florida; and two daughters, Krystal Jo – Mrs. Jeremey Darrell Scarberry of Newark, Ohio; and Kendra Michelle – Mrs. Bradley Thomas Judy of Urbana, Ohio. She is also remembered and loved by her two grandchildren, Jacob Daniel Lee and Abigail Kaylene. Also survived by a sister, Lorene – Mrs. Daniel Hochstetler of Utica, Ohio; and six brothers, Mervin (Esther) of Utica, Ohio; Duane (Nancy) of Gambier, Ohio; Laverne (Sara Kay) of Tryon, North Carolina; Floyd (Linda) of Utica, Ohio; Mahlon Jr. (Erma) of Gambier, Ohio; and Ernie (Janice) of Utica, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Wanda of Romney, West Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were one sister, Marietta of Utica, Ohio; and one brother Dennis of Romney, West Virginia.
Anyone wishing to donate to Karen's Recovery Fund can do so by mailing their donations to Stan Sarver, 600 South Bell Blvd., Ste 202, Cedar Park, Texas 78613. All checks or money orders should be made out to "Karen's Recovery Fund". Any money received will go toward the huge hospital bill and additional medical expenses from Karen's 6 day stay in ICU.
