He worked for Texas Crush Stone for 38 years until he retired and went back to work for Lone Star Paving until his death. Joe was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed hunting, dancing and listening to music. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ausencio Ojeda Sr.; sisters Lucy O. Moreno, Lydia O. Limon, Maria O. Cortez and grandson Anthony O’Brien Jimenez.
Jose is survived by his wife of 57 years Herminia Perez Ojeda; his only surviving sister Amelia O. Jaramillo; daughters, Michelle McCarthy (Dean) of Elgin, Illinois; Elizabeth A. Rodriguez (Michael) of Ellicott City, Maryland; Lucy A. Hernandez (Albert) and Katherine Munoz (Robert) both from Round Rock, Tx; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give special thanks to Ascension Seton Williamson, Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin, Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Round Rock and the Home Healthcare staff for their wonderful care of our father during his illness.
A visitation for Jose will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. A funeral service will occur Thursday, April 27, 2023, 10:00 a.m., at Saint William Catholic Church, 620 Round Rock West Drive, Round Rock, Texas 78681. A committal service will follow the funeral service at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
