She was born in Alabama, attended the University of Alabama, and met and married her wonderful husband, Don Whitley while in Huntsville. They lived in Alamogordo and White Sands, New Mexico, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Clear Lake near Houston before moving to Round Rock, Texas in 1980.
Fran is survived by her wonderful, loving daughters, Jill Whitley Sampson, and Beth Brewster Whitley of Round Rock, and her precious one and only grandson, Cole Brewster Whitley. Survivors also include her sister-in-law, Nelda Whitley, her daughter Christy Whitley, and son James Ray Whitley of Fort Worth, Texas, friends in Alabama, Colorado, Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas.
She is predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Donald Ray Whitley, her parents, sister, stepbrother, and stepsister, and brother-in-law Jerry Lynn Whitley.
Fran was a member of St. Phillips United Methodist Church in Round Rock since 1987, and the family would like to thank those who provided support and comfort. She was a member and President of the Brushy Creek Questers Antique Club (9 years), President of the Palm House Museum Association (10 years), founding member of the Old Settlers Village, member of the Red Hat Society, and a founding member and President of the Round Rock Hospital Auxiliary for 12 years.
A memorial celebrating her life will be held at St. Phillips United Methodist Church, 16321 Great Oaks Drive Round Rock, Texas on Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Followed by a Dove release and reception in the Family Life Center.
*Masks are mandatory for all in attendance.
